Ryan, the owner of Mode Automotive, is doing an excellent job and his prices seem fair. Ryan is very knowledgeable and very honest. For example, I witnessed several occasions that he explained people why they do not need a particular service at the current time. He also typically explains you options for full repair or temporary fixes - if you prefer that - and what the possible outcomes are. As far as I can tell, he is a fully trained Toyota mechanic, licensed and really knows what he is doing. We have both our Toyota's serviced at Mode Automotive (one regular and one hybrid). We even drive all the way from La Jolla for oil changes, because with the local mechanic options you never know what you will get.

I'm not a savvy car person and don't really care to know the fancy details about anything mechanical so when it comes to finding someone to do service on my foreign vehicle make, I need someone who can simplify all the automotive jargon down a bit so that I understand what I'm in for. Ryan was phenomenal at schooling me on the specifics of what my car needs for its regular maintenance, and I really appreciate that he was sharing detailed information not to just have a bigger sale, but to leave me as an informed consumer who can simply speak to the standards of service that my car needs, regardless if I'm at his shop or not. He is extremely professional, informative, knowledgeable and overall, my experience felt very sincere. You're not going to be taken advantage of or feel bullied into adding on services like many mechanics have made me feel. I am very pleased and since I purchased this car, I can absolutely see the changes in performance and notice that it's running better than when I purchased it a few months back! I totally recommend this place!

I hate having to talk to mechanics, I always feel like I just got reamed after dealing with them, but I found Ryan through a Groupon a couple of years ago, and its been a pleasure doing business with him. I don't feel like Ive been up sold and he's been straight and fair with me every time. I always get 3 quotes before getting work done on my truck and his prices are always fair. It's a relief to know a good and honest mechanic.
